Overview

The playground is a tour through Gainesville’s cultural landscape, from industrial to natural. Named for the now-renovated train depot, the park welcomes guests who walk over disused railroads with a train-shaped jungle gym.

The playground is inclusive and accessible, with harnessed swings and ramps leading to jungle gyms. A panel with plastic spinning gears encourages sensory play, and spinning seats and a slide with rollers upgrade classic play structures.

A 12-foot sculpture that’s essentially a small waterfall infused with fossils from the Florida Museum of Natural History is one of the park’s main attractions. Surrounding it are custom splash pads that squirt water from the ground and water cannons on the side.

Depot Park is located at South Main Street and Depot Avenue. It’s open from dawn to dusk, and onsite parking is available. Leashed pets are allowed.
